This series contains correspondence from Pierre Teilhard de Chardin to Lucile Swan and from Claude Cuenot to Lucile Swan, most of which appear in The Letters of Teilhard de Chardin and Lucile Swan edited by Thomas M. King, SJ, and Mary Wood Gilbert (Washington, D.C.: Georgetown University Press, 1993). The pages on which the published letters appear are indicated in this finding aid in parentheses, e.g., (p. 20).

Contains TLS primarily in French from Pierre Teilhard de Chardin to Lucile Swan (2 pages/1 sheet). Written from Institut de Geo-Biologie, Rue Labrousse, Beijing. With reference(s) to continued situation in Beijing at the end of WWII and work with Pierre Leroy with whom he was confined during the Japanese occupation. Other friends mentioned include, Larry Sickman, Bill Meyer, Nirgidma Torhout, Amadeus Grabau, Eleanore Tafel, Claire H. Tadjan, Jacques Bardac. Also news that his book, "Le Phenomene de Humain" ("The Phenomenon of Man") has been stopped in Rome by censors. (p.171-174)
