This is a small collection of correspondence by numerous eminent English Anglican clergymen to Robert Woodward and his wife, concerning primarily the acknowledgement of invitations to visit the Woodwards at their home, Arley Castle in Bewdley, Worcestershire.

He was ordained, 1820; became canon of Chester, 1845-68; dean of Ripon, 1868-75. He was a strong evangelical, and published sermons and religious works.
