Contains typed letter signed from Anthony Powell to John Monagan: @ Dear John, Reference letters, which I too have been trying to battle with, I have no objection to mine being given to some institution like Dartmouth, or put there "on permanent loan," as one can also do, if preferred. The copyright remains with the writer. I think on the whole I should prefer them not to be published at this stage as a general collection might appear one of these days, and it would be better for them to be sorted out with the others..." @ Reference also to finishing his novel, "The Fisher King," (to be published later by Norton, 1986).
