The Constantin Kluge - Pierre Leroy collection consists of 34 personal, autograph signed letters from Father Leroy to his friend Constantin Kluge, in addition to first-hand background information provided by Kluge on his acquaintance with Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and his circle (especially Pierre Leroy and Claude Riviere). A complete typed transcription of the 34 letters has been graciously provided by Mme. Solange Soulie, a close friend of Pierre Leroy.

Je suis heureux de savoir combien vous avez apprecie la nature et le climat de ce pays qui serait tres agreable si la violence ne le secouait pas inutilement. Entendu: je serai heureux de lire votre manuscrit, persuade de votre entiere sincerite. Il ne peut pas etre question pour moi d'etre "clerical" dans le mauvais sens du terme. Je realise comme vous que l'administration des eglises chretiennes...a deshumanise la religion... @ July 24, 1978: Mon bien cher Constantin, J'ai eu la joie de lire pendant le dernier weekend vos notes autobiographiques. C'est tres interessant: j'ai devore les 326 pages de votre manuscrit! Je crois que vous devez poursuivre votre travail et le completer; ce serait une bonne idees que de le publier en France et en Amerique. Les mutiples episodes de votre vie ne laissent pas le lecteur indifferent. Vous avez su maintenir l'interet et l'attention du lecteur d'un bout a l'autre. Tres amicalement je vous en felicite et vous remercie. @ Leroy also clarifies facts about his time in China and his first meeting with Kluge in 1942. @ July 28, 1978 (xerox copy): Vous avez du talent et vous savez en faire profiter les autres. La derniere partie de vos notes autobiographiques est aussi bonne que celles leur precedemment....
