Encloses excerpts from the memoirs of John Quincy Adams (vol. VII edited by Charles Francis Adams, 1875), referring to the Christmas riot at the US Military Academy at West Point in 1826 and the subsequent court of inquiry appointed by Col. Sylvanus Thayer, superintendent of the academy.
