Reference made to his children suffering from scarlet fever, particularly to Mary Caroline. Also reference to family friend, Mary Skirm. @ Letter dated 9/5/1863 from New Orleans. Includes 2 typescript copies of this ALS. Includes news of Peter N. Andre and Jeremiah ("Jerry") and Louise Calnon. [Note that all letters from Placidus addressed from Michigan at this time, includes news of the Andre, Calnon, and Starke families. Folders 3:18 to present.] Also mentions meeting a cousin of the Ord family in New Orleans, "Mr H[anson] B. Cresap who married in the Marshal family of Kentucky."
