Container Summary

Contains ALS from James Ord to his son. Written from Santa Cruz to Sault St. Marie. Reports on a stroke suffered by Rebecca Ruth Cresap whose illness has been covered in previous letters as well. Includes news of Robert and John Stephen Ord, as well as of William Marcellus, Edward and Georgiana. Also comments on the progress of the family farm in Santa Cruz: "John carries on the farming and he has done well with the small means he has....Last spring Marcellus and John set out an orchard of apples, peaches, pears, quinces, figs, etc. which is doing well. John has made a crop of oats, barley, beans.."
