Container Summary

Contains 9 ALs from Georgiana Catherine Ord (variously referring to herself as "Kate" or "Katy" or "Aunt Kate"), to her brother James Placidus Ord. The first letter includes a message to James Placidus and Julianne Clark Andre from James Ord transcribed by Georgiana. The letter is undated, but appears to be a congratulatory one from the Ords to J. Placidus and Julianne on the birth of their first child, possibly Clemalia Cashmere (not named in letter), born May 31, 1847. All the letters convey mainly family news. The last is a fragment, in purple ink, giving a genealogy of the Cresap family.
