Container Summary
Contains ALS from Edward Otho Cresap Ord to his father James Ord. Written from "Camp near San Pedro, Calif." to James Ord in Washington. "...I am just down from a tour to buy a little piece of land in this fertile but warm and unsettled and gentle farm district. The vineyards and olive groves are few but very pretty and productive and I am on the trail of one for the Ord family which John would like to settle on. Alas I am almost too poor to help him much and now I regret that I did not make money too in the early days of the gold mining."
