Container Summary
1 TMs and a set of notes by FGR on Dobbin, West Virginia, a town on the Potomac which was once a lumber center and which has vanished since the 1920's. The ms. discusses the saw mill in Dobbin, which ran from about 1885 to 1900 under the ownership of J. L. Rumbarger and until 1918 under the ownership of Parsons Pulp and Paper Company. The ms. also mentions Alfred L. Roth and his father, Alphaeus Lorenzo Roth, both of whom worked at the mill. One of them was a foreman at the mill and kept the log books contained in the following folders; it is possible that both of them were foremen and that both of them contributed to the notebooks, which are usually labeled only "A. L. Roth." The record books indicate the work time of the employees at the mill.
