Series-level Scope and Content Note
(Box 3, Folders 12 -58; Box 4, Folders 1-10) This series of correspondence is by many of Jones' friends and admirers. Written primarily to his long-time friend Harman Grisewood, the letters concern Jones' work and welfare. Arrangement is alphabetical by correspondent. Includes correspondence from Faber and Faber publishers, Cambridge University, the National Library of Wales, and the Ulster Museum, concerning the disposition of his estate, the publication of his written works and exhibition of his art.

Container Summary
Contains some 22 ALS from Diana Austin to HG, with the exception of ALS 5/5/76 to Leslie Hope. Ms. Austin was a doctoral candidate at Wolfson College, Oxford University, researching for a dissertation on David Jones' "In Parenthesis." Includes xerox copies of ALS from Austin to Anthony d'Offay, 6/5/75, introducing herself. Also, xerox copies of 2 TLS recommendations from her professor, John Bayley, to d'Offay and to Anthony J. Hyne, DJ's nephew. @ Ms. Austin's dissertation was completed in 1983, entitled, "A Study of "In Parenthesis" by David Jones." D. Phil. diss. Oxford University.
