Container Summary
Contains ALS draft by DJ to "Messrs. Markby Stewart & Wadesons" concerning the legacy bequeathed to him by Prudence Pelham. In an accompanying note dated July 1987, HG comments: "A tragic letter showing that David did not know of Prudence's death until he heard of the legacy she left him." @ Also contains a typescript copied for HG by Rene Hague, of a letter (dated 7/31/79) from Robert Buhler concerning Prudence Pelham. Buhler was her second husband. Part of this letter is quoted by Hague in his edition of correspondence by DJ, "Dai Greatcoat - A Self-portrait of David Jones in his Letters" (Faber and Faber, 1980, p.157.)
