(Box 1 Folders 1-32) This is the first of a five-part correspondence series relating to David Jones. Part I consists of correspondence from his long-time friend and editor, Harman Grisewood. Undated or incompletely dated correspondence, particularly in Folders 1:26 through 1:32, may include circa dates noted in brackets in pencil at the head of each letter. This information was very graciously provided by Mr. Grisewood from memory.

Contains 3 letters - @ ALS 10/8/1943 on letterhead for the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC), London. HG relates some "funny war stories." @ ALS 11/11/1943: "...we are coming up to London tonight to dine with the Kirkpatricks. And on Saturday again to go to a party at the [Douglas] Woodruffs. Bobby Speaight is very funny in his new post which needless to say he greatly relishes." @ ALS 12/29/43 w/ enclosure (article by T. Charles Edwards, "The Hero of Maida" (The Tablet 6/26/43).
