Correspondence dated 11/1898 received by Robert S. Chilton, Chief of U.S. Consular Bureau. Includes 1 TLS from Edward Breck offering congratulations upon Chilton's marriage, discussing a consular post in Germany, mentioning Breck's services to the U.S. Navy Department during the Spanish-American War, referring to Breck's favor in the eyes of President William McKinley, making reference to William R. Day, and noting that Breck's Spanish adventures are published in the November and December issues of the journal "Cosmopolitan" for 1898. Also, 1 ALS from C. A. Miller to Secretary of State John Hay requesting the address of the U.S. Consul in Manilla, Philippines. And, 1 ALS from Reginald Poulter from San Francisco to Chilton informing him that Poulter planned to travel to Havana, Cuba and inquiring whether a quarantine existed between Cuba and either Jamaica, Barbados, or Trinidad.
