Correspondence dated 6/1898 received by Robert S. Chilton, Chief of U.S. Consular Bureau. Correspondents include Gustave Beuletspacher, Commercial Agent in Moncton, New Brunswick, with reference to William R. Day being appointed Secretary of State and mention of the views on the Spanish-American War of the populace of Moncton; 1 ALS from Stephen C. Fay, of Owen Cycles in Rochester, New York, to Congressman Henry C. Brewster (NY), requesting maps and consular reports on the Philippines and Cuba; W. P. Boyd, U.S. Consul in Honolulu, Hawaiian Islands, with reference to the residents there giving the U.S. troops a good reception and to the prospect of U.S. annexation of Hawaii; J. W. Bayne upon accepting a position in the Army; Congressman Henry C. Brewster (2 TLS) in regard to the abovementioned letter from Fay and to trade in Cuba and Puerto Rico; and 1 TLS from Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York asking for a copy of the latest report of the U.S. Consul at San Domingo, West Indes.
