Office files of Edmund P. Cerrute, S.J., faculty moderator of "The Hoya", for the academic year 1935-1936. Cerrute's primary concern appears to have been the business aspects of "The Hoya," especially managing advertisements for it. The correspondence, arranged by month, reveals a little about the motivations of advertisers and the difficulties of obtaining ads during the Depression. Includes correspondence from various advertising firms like Cluett, Peabody and Company, Inc., Newell-Emmett Co., and A.J. Norris Hill Company placing advertisements on behalf of companies such as the Ford Motor Company, Chesterfield Cigarettes, Camel Cigarettes, Liggett and Myers Tobacco Co., W.A. Sheaffer Pen Co., Underwood-Elliott Fisher Typewriter Co., among others.
