Scope and Contents

Correspondence regarding students and money owed to the school as well as receipts for goods purchased, predominantly books. Also includes includes two letters from Stanislaus Murray to John Blox, SJ, in which Murray attests to the honesty and care of Ned (November 18, 1848) and in which Murray agrees to let the Seminary hire Ned out for one month "on trial" with the hope of securing a sustained relationship at the rate of $8/month (November 20, 1848). Further contains a letter from Francis Vespre, SJ, recommending Irish immigrant servant Cornelius Deasy, who had worked as gardener and manual worker (December 22, 1850).
