Scope and Contents

Mainly student accounts. A handwritten index is present. Contains references to the presence of enslaved persons on campus, including: the hiring by the College of two enslaved woman, Sukey and Becky, from William Diggs between March 1800 and November 1803, at £10 per year; the renting of two enslaved persons to the College by the Neale family in the account of Franics Neale; the hiring out by the College of Zealam in Mrs. McDermott's account; and the sale to the College of an enslaved person named George in the account of studen John Llewellin.
