Scope and Contents

A note pasted inside the front cover reads: "The number of Persons in the College at the beginning of the year 1804 is in all white and black sixty four." A handwritten index is present. Includes accounts "of meat used in the College commencing Nov 1806 received from St. Inigoes" and accounts for Leonard Neale, Francis Neale, William Mathews, Charles Boarman, Elizabeth Blume, Elizabeth Nevit, James Ord, Hennerito M. Honey "entered as cook in the College on the 20th January 1806", and Charles Worthington. A carricature is found in the margin of page 43. Included towards the back are: an inventory of the clothes of Master S. Gartland, March 14, 1809; a list of the number of persons residing at the College on January 1, 1808, which notes a number of enslaved persons; and an account for Miss Ann Howe's Steven who "set in at the College on Monday 26th of Nov. 1804 at one dollar per week to keep the New College in good order." Pasted at the back are lists of the number of persons in the College in January 1805 and January 1806. Both lists note a number of enslaved persons. The name Watt is mentioned in both lists; the 1806 list notes that he left in February along with Jack.
