Contains references to the presence of enslaved persons on campus, including an entry on December 29, 1846 showing $2 being paid to 4 "colored servants" as a Christmas gift and an entry on September 20, 1847 showing a payment of $6 to Ben and James who are described as "hired col[or]d serv[an]ts," for "extra work in vacations."
