Scope and Contents

Contains accounts for administrators, faculty, and students. A gift of $1600 from Joseph Eck of Philadelphia "as foundation for the education of one student" is noted on page 1. Contains references to the presence of enslaved persons on campus, including: the hiring out by the Fevrier family of several slaves to the College to cover the expenses of their two sons John and Francis between 1798 and 1800; the hiring out of an enslaved man named Peter to the College by James Price to defray his expenses (page 248); and expenses, including burial expenses, for an enslaved women owned by Justane Douat (page 152).
