Includes payments for food, clothing, houshold items, and services rendered. The book also records cash received 1817-1819 and September 1822-1826.
Events of interest on campus such as departures, arrivals, and deaths (including the death of "our old Dick" on September 16, 1829) between 1820 and 1843 are recorded in a chronological sequence at the back of the book. The departure of Fathers Thomas Mulledy, William McSherry, Pise, Ryder, Smith and Fenwick for Rome on June 6, 1820 is mentioned, as are the return of Mulledy, McSherry and Young on December 22, 1828, the striking by lightning of the northwest tower of Old North on Easter Sunday 1831, the departure of Thomas Mulledy for Rome on July 4, 1839, and his return on January 10, 1843.
Contains references to the presence of enslaved persons on campus.
