Report of 10/31/1945 references possibility of erecting field house "as an immediate substitute for a gymnasium". Report of 12/01/1945 references World War I memorial of Lombardy Poplars ("since partially destroyed by weather and new construction on campus"), ideas for World War II memorial, and possibility of using surplus army hangers as field house. Report of 10/24/1946 references donation of portrait of Vincent S. McDonough, S.J., by alumni and Georgetown playing cards ("One deck bears the view of John Carroll's statue in its natural setting while the other presents Healy tower"). Report of 11/29/1946 references Annex Buildings ("In an attempt to provide adequate classroom space and offices and conference rooms for the faculty, Rev. Edmund A. Walsh, S.J., Vice-President of the University and Regent of the School of Foreign Service, has obtained temporary buildings from the government representing several thousand square feet of floor space. The builidngs will be erected on a now empty lot facing 37th street at the corner of "N" Street. It is hoped that the buildings will be ready for occupancy by the opening of the second semester in February and that thye will help greatly to relieve the overcrowded conditions in the Foreign Service School's quarters in the Healy Building"). The Alumni Association originally occupied these quarters in 1939 until we were evicted by Army Headquarters at the College late in 1942. After the ASTP program of the army was terminated in 1944, the premises were used as headquarters for the new hospital campaign and later as a facility for the Veterans' Guidance Center".
