Brady; discussion of decision not to award honorary degree to Jose de Lequerica, in letter of 04/23/1952: "the gesture of a degree to Spain's highest official in this country might very easily be misinterpreted in light of recent events". Also reference to award of first Doctor of Music degree in 1849 in letter of 08/21/1952, and note by William Repetti, S.J. re Ph.D.s for Thomas Antisell and Charles Henry Jordan and whether they were in course or honorary, 03/16/1950.
