Correspondence and other material re Georgetown Visitation Convent. Includes material re founding and early activities of Georgetown Visitation and procurement of land including a deed from 1817 for twenty acres of land and a deed to Georgetown Visitation Convent from 1886. Also includes various notes from Francis Barnum, S.J. re Visitation, various correspondence and newspaper clippings, an undated prospectus for the Ladies’ Academy of the Visitation in Georgetown, D.C., various lists of "Black Veil Sisters" and "White Veil Sisters", a typed copy of a baptismal certificate for Julia Gardiner Tyler and Pearl Tyler from 1872, correspondence from R. W. Brady to Sister Agatha between 1879-1889, a book of images of various buildings and grounds of Visitation, an ode recited in honor of Rev. James Curley, S.J. for his golden jubilee in 1883, an issue of “The Washington Catholic” from June 9, 1883, and a booklet about St. Jane Frances De Chantal entitled "A Saint of the Sacred Heart.”
