Nesbit, Jr. correspondence with Gerard J. Campbell, S.J., Edward B. Bunn, S.J., Brian A. McGrath, S.J., Hunter Guthrie, S.J., Edmund A. Walsh, S.J., W. Coleman Nevils, S.J. and Joseph J. Himmel, S.J., material re the inauguration of James M. Nesbit, Jr. as president of Howard in 1961, newspaper clippings, a flier for a meeting for students in interested in civil rights dated November 23, 1963, various event invitations and programs including the dedication of the New Chemistry Building in 1936 and the testimonial dinner for Mordecai Wyatt Johnson in 1960, material re the inauguration of Johnson as Howard president in 1927, commencement material, and a photograph of an unknown building on Howard’s campus. Correspondence of note includes exchanges between Nevils, Maryland-New York Provincial Edward Phillips, S.J., Archbishop of Baltimore Michael J. Curley, and Wlodimirus Ledochowski, S.J. in Rome re a talk given by Nevils in 1931 at Howard discussing some concern over Nevils’ agreeing to speak.
