Also material re conference on NATO: Problems and Perspectives, May 7-8, 1964, including outline of advance study paper by Henry A. Kissinger, advance study papers by Robert Strauz-Hupe, John Cotesworth Slessor, Klaus Knorr, and Pierre Uri, and excerpts from speech by Under Secretary of State George W. Ball, as printed in New York Times, May 8, 1964. Also present, letter from Graduate School Dean James B. Horrigan, S.J., to David Abshire, dated July 15, 1964, re need to integrate Center more closely with University and formalize its relationship with Graduate School and letter from President Gerard J. Campbell, S.J., to CSIS Director Arleigh Burke, dated September 11, 1964, conveying approval of Board of Directors for proposed new structure for Center.
