Container Summary

Inaugural address by President Guthrie. One of his central themes is that universities fail to fully educate students if they do not include the teaching of religion and morals: "...the goal of true education is dualistic. Both spirit and nature in the Pauline sense claim their just measure of attention. No academic system can pretend to be realistic if it fails to account for both factors in its training ..." Address ends at the 25 minute 26 second mark. [3-3/4 IPS].
