Other Educational Institutions, 1933

 File — Box: 2, Folder: 8
Identifier: 19062

Scope and Contents

Includes a letter from Sister Helen Cecilia, Registrar of the College of Saint Elizabeth, Convernt Station, New Jersey, asking if Georgetown admitted women to its Graduate School for the Masters of Science in Foreign Service program, March 14, 1933, and reply from President Nevils stating that "I am sure that the tone of our Foreign Service School would be very much elevated, and I have no doubt that the School would become more populat if we were to receive one of the Sisters of Charity of Convent Station. However, Georgetown University has never aspired to so high a cause and we have yet to register not only the first nun, but the first who is not a white man."
