Scope and Contents

Letter from Pope Pius IX in reply to donations sent by the students of Georgetown College following King Victor Emmanuel II's invasion of Rome as well as two printed copies of the same (6-6-1871); letter from Georgetown College professors and students to the pope in celebration of his silver jubilee (6-16-1871); and a copy of a letter to Rev. Dr. Silas M. Chatard regarding the above donations (7-2-1871).
