Biographical / Historical

Niccolò Piccinni (1728-1800) was an Italian composer who wrote over 100 operas. He is credited with introducing the multi-movement finale. He was one of the most successful and prolific composers of his time, and dominated the stage in Naples for most of the the 1760s.
