1 ALS dated 12/31/1835 from Mahlon Dickerson (1770-1853), Secretary of the U.S. Navy (1834-1838), to Susan Decatur, informing her that no provisions in the pension laws make her eligible for a pension. However, Dickerson expresses his hope that Congress will grant her a pension anyway. Sent from Navy Department, Washington, D.C.
